Spaghetti Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
Vegetable cooking spray
3/4 cup chopped onion
3/4 cup chopped green pepper
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 (14 1/2-ounce) cans no-salt-added tomatoes, undrained
1 (6-ounce) can no-salt-added tomato paste
2 teaspoons dried whole oregano
1 teaspoon dried whole basil
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
1/4 teaspoon dried whole thyme
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 bay leaf
Directions
Coat a Dutch oven with cooking spray, place over medium heat until hot.
Add onion, green pepper, and garlic, and saute 5 minutes or until tender.
Add remaining ingredients, stirring well; bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heatr, and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Remove and discard bay leaf.
Serve sauce hot over cooked pasta or spaghetti squash strands.
