Bring water to full boil in very large kettle. Add oil and salt. Gradually add pasta so that it does not stick together or to bottom of pan. Return to a boil and boil 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until desired tenderness. Drain. Adjust seasoning. Serve with butter, grated cheese, or a sauce. Note: If holding pasta 30 minutes or so before serving, drain, and then rinse with cold water. Before serving, place in a colander over a pot containing 2 inches of boiling water, below pasta level. Cover and heat with the steam.
