 1 pound very lean ground beef
 Onion1 , chopped
 Green pepper1 To taste, finely chopped
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced
 Parsley1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Dried oregano1/2 Teaspoon
 Sweet basil1 Teaspoon, dried
 Fennel seeds1/4 Teaspoon
 Tomatoes1 Can (10oz), undrained
 Tomato Paste1 Can (10oz)
 Water1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Bay Leaf1
 Sugar2 Tablespoon
 Pepper1/4 Teaspoon

Directions

1. Brown meat, onion, and green pepper. Drain off fat.
2. Add all other ingredients.
3. Cover and simmer about 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
