Spaghetti and Meatballs with Garlic Bread Recipe

| Onions | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), finley chopped | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm), finely chopped | |
| 8 ounces lean ground beef round | ||
| Turkey breast | 8 Ounce | |
| Seasoned bread crumbs | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg white | 1 | |
| Dried oregano | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 jar (26 ounces) fat-free tomato sauce | ||
| Garlic Bread | ||
| 1 whole bulb garlic | ||
| Water | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Olive oil | 2 Teaspoon | |
| 1/2 loaf French or Italian bread, halved lengthwise | ||
| Parmesan cheese | 1 Tablespoon, grated | |
| Spaghetti | ||
| Spaghetti | 10 Ounce | |
| 1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley | ||
Directions
To make the meatballs: Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Coat a 9" X 9" baking dish with no-stick spray.
Coat a small no-stick skillet with no-stick spray and place over medium heat.
Add the onions and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Add the garlic and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, Remove from the heat.
In a large bowl, stir together the beef and turkey.
Add the onion mixture, bread crumbs, egg white, oregano, and 1/2 cup of the tomato sauce.
Mix well.
Form the mixture into 12 meatballs.
Place in the prepared baking dish.
Cover with foil.
Place the dish in a larger pan and add about 1" of water to the outer pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the meatballs are no longer pink in the center when tested with a sharp knife.
Pour the remaining tomato sauce into a medium saucepan and warm over low heat.
Add the meatballs and stir to combine.
To make the garlic bread: Meanwhile, slice 1/4" off the top of the garlic bulb and discard.
Set the bulb on a piece of foil, sprinkle with the water, and wrap loosely.
Place in the oven alongside the meatballs and roast for 25 to 30 minutes, or until very soft.
Let cool for 5 minutes.
Preheat the broiler.
Squeeze the roasted garlic into a small bowl and discard the papery skin.
Add the oil.
Using a fork, mash the garlic and oil into a smooth paste.
Spread the paste over the inside of the bread halves.
Sprinkle with the Parmesan and place the halves on a baking sheet.
Broil for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the Parmesan is slightly melted.
Cut each half into 6 slices.
To make the spaghetti: Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling water according to the package directions.
Drain.
Serve the meatballs and sauce over the spaghetti.
Sprinkle with the parsley.
Serve with the garlic bread.
