Spaetzle Recipe

Spaetzle is an amazingly easy to prepare side dish which cannot just escape your guest's attention in any party. Try this delicious Spaetzle; I am sure you will get a huge fan following for this!

3 cups all-purpose flour
 
4 eggs
 
Butter or margarine (optional)

Directions

1. In 6-quart saucepot over high heat, heat 4 quarts water and 2 teaspoons salt if desired to boiling. Meanwhile, in medium-sized bowl, with spoon, beat flour, 3/4 cup water, 1/2 tea spoon salt, and eggs until smooth.
2. Reduce heat to medium. Over simmering water, with rubber spatula, press batter through spaetzle maker (or colander or grater with large holes). Stir water gently so spaetzle pieces do not stick together. Cook 2 to 3 minutes, until tender but firm (al dente); drain. If you like, toss with butter or margarine to serve.
