Soya Herbal Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
6 tsps.brown sugar
2 tsps. dried orange peel
1 bouquet garni
1 tsp. five spice powder
7 cups water
2/3 cups soya sauce
2 cups dry sherry
3 tsps. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Directions
To make Bouquet garni:
Tie in a piece of muslin cloth 4 bay leaves, 4 sprigs thyme, 4 sprigs parsley together.
Place with all the remaining ingredients in a pot over low heat, preferably earthenware.
Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
Remove bouquet garni bag from the liquid and the liquid is ready for use.
It can be stored in refrigerator for longer time but it should be strained occasionally and every third time it is used, fresh bouquet garni should be added and removed before refrigerating.
