Place fish fillets in plastic bag set in deep bowl.
Combine the cooking oil, soy sauce, wine vinegar, and finely chopped onion; mix well.
Pour mixture over fish fillets in bag; close bag.
Marinate fish for 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature; turn bag occasionally.
Drain fish, reserving marinade.
Place fish in well-greased wire grill basket.
Grill over hot coals for 8 to 9 minutes.
Turn fish and brush with marinade.
Grill till fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, 6 to 8 minutes more
