Southern Pecan Pie Recipe

Southern Pecan Pie was my family cook's signature dish, now that he's gone I have taken up the task of preparing it for the family. Even though Southern Pecan Pie is a Dessert I relish it any time of the day. The Southern Pecan Pie is one of the most popular creations of the European Cuisine. I cant believe you just have not tried my Southern Pecan Pie recipe, yet.

Ingredients

 
Pie Shell- 9-inch unbaked, refrigerated
 
Filling:
 
Eggs- 4medium
 
Sugar- 1 cup
 
Light Corn Syrup- 1 cup
 
Flour- 1/2 tablespoon
 
Salt- 1/4 teaspoon
 
Vanilla Extract- 1 teaspoon
 
Butter or Margarine- 1/4 cup, melted
 
Pecan Halves- 2 cups
 
Whipped Cream- as desired

Directions

GETTING READY
1) Preheat the oven to 350F.
2) In a bowl, with a rotary beater, beat the eggs well.

MAKING
3) Mix in the sugar, corn syrup, flour, salt, and vanilla.
4) Using whisk beat the flour mixture until well combined.
5) Mix in butter and pecans, in the flour mixture and mix well.
6) Transfer the flour mixture into unbaked pie shell.
7) Bake in the oven for 50 minutes, or until the filling is set in the center when the pie is shaken gently.
8) Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack.
9) Place in refrigerator until chilled.

SERVING
10) When ready to serve, garnish pecan pie with whipped cream.
