Southern Nut Pie Recipe
The Southern Nut Pie is an addictive dessert that I have loved sine my childhood! Try this brilliant Southern Nut Pie recipe handed down from my mother! I am sure you will like it!
Ingredients
2 9 inch unbaked pie shells
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 1/2 cups peanuts, finely ground
6 eggs
2 cups seedless raisins
1/4 cups light brown sugar
2/4 cups light corn syrup
1 cup whipping cream
2 teaspoons vanilla, divided
1/4 cup confectioners sugar
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350° F 10 minutes before the pies are ready to be baked.
Double the Pie Shell recipe.
Do not bake the shells.
Beat the eggs well.
Add the brown sugar, corn syrup, and 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla.
Mix well.
Add the melted butter and peanuts.
Add the raisins if desired.
Pour the mixture into the pie crust shells.
Bake at 350° F for 40 minutes.
Cool on a rack.
Whip the cream until stiff.
Add the confectioners' sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla.
Garnish the pies with the sweetened whipped cream
