Southern Mixed Herb Vinegar Recipe
Ingredients
| Rosemary | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Thyme | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Shallots | 4 | |
| Parsley sprig | 1 | |
| Peppercorns | 12 To taste | |
| White vinegar | 3 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) |
Directions
MAKING
1 In a wide-mouth glass jar, place the first 5 ingredients
2 In a medium saucepan, put the vinegar.
3 Bring to a boil.
4 Pour the vinegar over herbs.
5 Cover with a metal lid and secure tightly.
6 Allow to stand at room temperature for 2 weeks.
7 Strain the vinegar into decorative jars.
8 Discard the herb residue.
9 Add in the additional sprigs of fresh rosemary and thyme (optional)
10 Seal the jars using an airtight lid.
SERVING
11 Serve as desired.
