Southern Ham And Shrimp Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 tablespoons CRISCO® Vegetable Oil | ||
| Onion | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Green bell pepper | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Parsley | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Water | 1 1/2 Quart | |
| 3 low sodium chicken flavor bouillon cubes | ||
| Okra package | 1 , frozen | |
| Shrimp | 1/2 pound, deveined | |
| 2 cups cubed lean cooked ham | ||
| Hot cooked rice | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Heat Crisco® Oil in large saucepan on medium heat.
Add onion and green pepper.
Cook and stir 5 minutes.
Stir in parsley, water and bouillon cubes.
Bring to a boil.
Add okra.
Reduce heat to low.
Simmer 10 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes.
Add shrimp.
Simmer 2 to 3 minutes or until shrimp turn pink.
Add ham.
Heat thoroughly.
Ladle over rice in soup bowls.
