Southern Corn Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| Self rising white cornmeal mix - 1/2 oz, uncooked | ||
| Instant nonfat dry milk powder - 2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons | ||
| Double-acting baking powder - 1 teaspoon | ||
| Granulated sugar substitute - to equal 2 teaspoons sugar | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Preheat the oven to 425°F.
MAKING
2) In a small bowl mix the dry ingredients together, stir in the beaten egg until the dry ingredients are moistened.
3) In a 1-quart casserole sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, spread the mixture at the bottom.
4) Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until lightly browned on top.
5) Remove from the oven and allow to slightly cool.
SERVING
6) Slice and serve warm on a serving platter.
