Directions

Pour milk into a glass or ceramic bowl and cover bowl with cheesecloth.
Let stand in the outdoors for 1 day.
Stir in flour and re-cover bowl with cheesecloth. Place outside for 2 days.
Place bowl in a sunny spot indoors and allow to stand until mixture bubbles and starts to sour, about 2 days.
Spoon into a quart jar with a screw cap and store in refrigerator at least 1 day before using. (If top of starter -should start to dry out at any time during this process, stir in a little lukewarm water.)
When you remove 1 1/2 cups of sourdough starter, simply combine 3/4 cup milk and 3/4 cup flour and stir into jar.
Cover jar with cheesecloth and place in sunny spot for 1 day.
Remove cheesecloth; cover jar and return to refrigerator.
