Sour Soup Recipe

Ingredients
5 cups chicken stock
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon monosodium glutamate
Pinch of pepper
3 eggs
6 oz chopped, cooked meat or vegetables, optional
Directions
Bring the stock gently to the boil.
Mix the soy sauce, cornflour (cornstarch), vinegar, salt, monosodium glutamate and pepper to a smooth paste.
Add to the soup, stirring all the time until slightly thickened.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Beat the eggs until smooth and pour in a thin stream into the soup, so that they form ribbons.
Add chopped meat or vegetables, if using.
