Sour Milk Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients
2 cup cake flour, sifted
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup vegetable shortening, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 eggyolks, beaten
2 oz. baking chocolate, melted
1 cup skim milk, soured
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Directions
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together.
Cream shortening and sugar replacement until fluffy; add vanilla extract and egg yolks and beat thoroughly.
Stir in chocolate.
Add sifted dry ingredients and soured milk alternately in small amounts; beat well after each addition.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour batter into two 9 in. (23 cm) well greased and floured pans.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tests done.
