Ingredients

5-6 Kokum

milk extracted from 1 coconut ( canned unsweetened coconut milk works well too)

1 green chilli,

1/2 tsp cumin seeds,

sugar or powdered jaggery ( according to taste),

little salt, cilantro

Directions

Soak Kokum in hot water for 1/2 hr. . Grind green chilli and cumin to paste

Once the kokum water turns pink, add coconut milk to it. Depending on how sweet you want to make your kadhi, add jaggery. (I like it sour so I put very little jaggery. ). Add salt. Add cumin-chilli paste. Add cilantro.
In winter, I warm up this Kadhi a bit and enjoy it as a soup.
In summer, enjoy it cold or at room temperature.

Some like to add some garlic or ginger to the cumin-chilli paste.
