Soft Pretzels Recipe

I have only one word to describe this Soft Pretzels recipe : Superlicious! I just love Side Dish recipes and this dish is my only favorite amongst them. In my opinion, if one is a chef, one ought to have a personal recipe of Soft Pretzels, just like I do.

Ingredients

 
1 pkg. yeast
 
1 tsp. salt
 
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
 
4 c. flour
 
1 egg, beaten
 
Coarse salt

Directions

Soften yeast in 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water in large bowl; add salt and sugar.
Mix in flour with hands; knead to form soft dough.
Do not allow dough to rise.
Cut immediately into small pieces.
Roll into ropes; form into pretzel shapes.
Cover cookie sheet with foil; dust with flour.
Place pretzels on sheet.
Brush with egg; sprinkle with coarse salt.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
