Directions

Sift flour, soda, and cream of tartar into large bowl.
Work in butter with fingers until of fine-meal consistency.
Add sugar; blend thoroughly.
Combine milk and water; stir into flour mixture to form medium-soft dough.
Press dough lightly into 10 x 8-inch rectangle on lightly floured surface.
Cut into 1 x 3 inch triangles.
Brush tops with egg; place on baking sheet.
Bake in preheated 400 °F oven 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
