Snake Gourd Thoran Recipe
Snake Gourd Thoran has a fine taste. Snake Gourd Thoran gets its taste from padavalanga mixed with coconut and garam masala. Snake Gourd Thoran is inspired by many food joints across the world.
Ingredients
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Padavalanga 500 gms
Grated coconut 1/2 cup
Onion 1 Dry
Red chillies 2
Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Shallots 2-3
Curry leaves 2-3 sprigs
Turmeric powder A pinch
Oil ' 1 tbsp
Garlic pods 2
Curry powder or Garam masala 1/4 tsp
Salt as per taste
Directions
Take oil in a pan and heat it.
Crackle the mustard seeds.
Add curry leaves and dry red chillies and saute them.
Put in shallots, onion and garlic.
Fry for about 4 minutes.
Here you may sprinkle 1/4 tsp of any curry powder or garam masalafor a better flavor.
Then, include padavalanga pieces followed by turmeric powder and chilly powder.
Cook on medium flame for about 5 minutes.
Add salt.
Pour sufficient water.
Cook for about 5-10 minutes on low flame or till padavalanga is well done.
Mix grated coconut.
Blend thoroughly.
Extinguish the flame.
