Smoked Sausage Stuffed Pasta Shells Recipe
Smoked sausage stuffed pasta shells is a herbed and saucy macaroni recipe. Filled with a cheesy, herbed egg and sausage mix, the smoked sausage stuffed pasta shells is baked to finish with a topping of extra cheese. Ingredients
| 3/4 pound Smoked Sausage, chopped fine | ||
| 18 large macaroni shells | ||
| Ricotta cheese | 1 pound | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Shredded mozzarella cheese | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Parsley | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Parmesan cheese | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
| Dried basil leaves | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Oregano leaves | 1/2 Teaspoon, dried | |
| 1 jar (15 ounces) prepared spaghetti sauce with mushrooms and onions | ||
| Water | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Prepare shells according to package directions.
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Combine ricotta cheese and egg in medium bowl.
Add mozzarella, parsley, Parmesan cheese, basil and oregano.
Stir in sausage.
Combine spaghetti sauce and water in small bowl.
Put 3/4 cup of the sauce in bottom of 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
Fill shells with sausage-cheese mixture and place in pan.
Pour remaining sauce over top.
Bake 35 minutes or until stuffed shells are heated through and cheese melts.
