Sliced Sweet Pickles Recipe
Ingredients
4 qt. small cucumbers
2 green peppers
6 onions
3 cloves of garlic
1/3 c. salt
Cracked ice
5 c. sugar
3 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery

Directions
Slice cucumbers, green peppers, onions and garlic paper thin.
Layer vegetables, salt and ice in crock; let stand, covered, for 3 hours.
Drain thoroughly.
Com- bine sugar, vinegar, mustard seed, turmeric and cel- ery salt in large kettle; bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
Add vegetables to syrup; mix well.
Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
Pack in hot steril- ized jars; seal.
