Skillet Cornbread Recipe
Ingredients
| Yellow cornmeal | 11/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Buttermilk | 11/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 to 3 tablespoons bacon drippings | ||
Directions
Combine dry ingredients; add egg and buttermilk, mixing well.
Grease a 9-inch cast-iron skillet with bacon drippings; heat in a 400°F oven for 3 minutes or until very hot.
Pour batter into hot skillet, and bake at 400°F for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
