Skillet Meat Loaf Recipe
Ingredients
| Tomato soup | 1 Can (10oz), condensed | |
| Ground beef | 1 1/2 Pound | |
| 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs | ||
| 1 egg, slightly beaten | ||
| Onion | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), finley chopped | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Generous dash pepper | ||
| Shortening | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Prepared mustard | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Processed cheese slice | 2 , cut in half | |
Directions
Combine 1/4 cup soup with meat, bread crumbs, egg, onion, salt, and pepper; mix thoroughly.
Shape firmly into 2 loaves.
In skillet, brown loaves in shortening.
Cover; cook over low heat 25 minutes.
Spoon off fat.
Stir in remaining soup, water, and mustard.
Top loaves with cheese.
Cook uncovered 10 minutes.
Stir now and then.
