Recipe Story

Peas are a favorite in my family. I have eaten this dish as a child but it was made of fresh peas. It was not the time of frozen stuff then, I guess. But the freezer has made it even simpler. I have never tried it with canned peas yet. I am not a big fan of veggies in a can if they are anything but corn...

Ingredients

2 cups peas

1 tsp cumin seeds

salt to taste

sprinkle of black pepper

2 tsp butter

Directions

Warm the butter in a pan.
Add the cumin. Let it sizzle a bit.
Add the frozen peas right out of the bag. Mix with 1/2 cup water.
Let the mixture come to a boil. May take time as the peas were frozen.
Add salt and pepper to your taste. Let it boil for 3 minutes.
Serve warm. Can be enjoyed as a snack too.
