Ingredients
6 ounces ground beef, formed into a patty
Kosher salt and pepper
Directions
Broiling.
Preheat the broiler.
Sprinkle the beef patty with salt and pepper.
Place the patty on a broiler pan about 2 1/2-3 inches from the broiler.
Broil for about 3-5 minutes per side, or longer for well done.
Grilling. Prepare a grill.
Sprinkle the beef patty with salt and pepper.
Place the burger on the grill and cook for about 3-5 minutes on each side, or longer for well done.
Other choices: If you would like to substitute ground chicken, turkey, or veal for ground beef in any of the burger recipes, cook them according to the same directions, but for a shorter time.
All three have a lower fat content than beef, and shorter cooking times will keep the juices in.
