Ingredients

 6 ripe bananas, peeled and mashed
 Self raising flour230 Gram (For the cake:)
 150 gms. fine sugar
 Unsalted butter150 Gram (For the cake:)
 Eggs3 (For the cake:)
 Milk1/4 Cup (16 tbs) (For the cake:)
 Vanilla essence1 Teaspoon (For the cake:)
 1 tsp. cardamom and nutmeg powder
 1 tsp. soda-bi-carb or baking powder
 Unsalted butter170 Gram (Frosting:)
 Icing Sugar120 Gram (Frosting:)
 100 gms. finely sliced, roasted almonds

Directions

Prepare an 8-inch cake tin by brushing it with butter and papering the bottom and sides.
Beat: the sugar and the butter in a bowl, preferably an electric one. Add the bananas, vanilla, spices and whip lightly again.
Gently add the flour a little at a time. Add each egg after adding a little flour. When all the items have been mixed well, add the soda-bi-carb or baking powder to the milk. Mix well and add it to the flour mixture. Pour the prepared flour into the cake tin.
Bake at 350°F till a skewer poked into the cake comes out clean. It should take 45 to 60 minutes before being ready.
Allow the cake to cool.
Whip the butter and icing sugar till both have mixed well. Apply it to the top of the cake. Sprinkle the almonds along the edges of the cake.
Serve at tea time with cucumber sandwiches.
