Sicilian Lettuce Salad Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 head romaine | ||
| 1/2 head bronze or curly leaf lettuce | ||
| Cucumber | 1 , sliced | |
| 2 tomatoes, cut in serving pieces | ||
| Apple | 1 , chopped | |
| 1/2 cup pecans or pine nuts | ||
| Seasoned rice vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Red wine vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Balsamic vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1/4 cup cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Onion salt or onion powder to taste | ||
Directions
Tear the lettuce in bite-size pieces in a large salad bowl.
Add the cucumber, tomatoes, apple and pecans.
Combine the vinegars and olive oil in a covered jar and shake vigorously to blend.
Drizzle the dressing over the salad.
Toss, adding salt and onion salt.
