Ingredients
| Rice grain | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cold water | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1 Dash | |
| Ground pork | 7 Ounce | |
| Onions | 2 , sliced | |
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Basil | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Parmesan cheese | 1 Can (10oz), grated |
Directions
1. Bring rice, water, and salt to a boil while stirring and cook covered 20 minutes. Remove from heat immediately and stir rice with a fork.
2. Brown pork and onions well in butter and season with salt, pepper, and basil.
3. Add tomatoes with juice. Simmer covered over low heat. Butter an ovenproof dish and place alternately thin layers of rice and meat. Sprinkle each layer with Parmesan cheese. The first layer should be rice and the last layer meat. Bake in a 400-425°F oven until food is heated thoroughly, about 15 minutes.
