Shrimps Louisiana Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/4 pound ham with fat, raw or cooked | ||
| Onion | 1 , chopped | |
| Stalk celery | 1 , chopped | |
| Parsley | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Green pepper | 1/2 , chopped | |
| 3 cups canned or cooked tomatoes | ||
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cayenne | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Chili powder | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Hot cooked rice | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 pound cleaned, cooked or canned shrimps | ||
Directions
1. Chop the ham and heat it in a heavy saucepan until it yields its fat. Add the onion, celery, parsley and green pepper. Saute about 3 minutes, stirring.
2. Add the tomatoes, salt, cayenne and chili powder. Cook until the sauce is thick and smooth, 20 minutes or so. Add the rice and the shrimps broken in coarse pieces. Heat and serve.
