Spicy Shrimp Biryani Recipe Video

Ingredients

 
1 cup oil
 
1 number Bari ilaayachi
 
2 cup Basmati rice
 
1 tbsp biryani masala
 
2 number Chhotee ilaayach
 
1/2 tsp chilli pdr
 
1 number coriander leaves
 
1 tsp coriander pdr
 
2 cup curd
 
1 stick Daalchini (cinnamon)
 
1 number fried onion
 
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
 
1 tsp gr chilli
 
1/2 tsp Jeera -
 
1 tsp Jeera powder
 
1 bunch mint
 
400 grams Prawn
 
1 tsp Red chilly powder
 
1 to taste Salt

Directions

GETTING READY
1. To prepare the prawn shrimp biryani, fry finely sliced onion until golden brown and keep aside.
2. Wash basmati rice and soak in water for about 30 mins.
3. In a mixing bowl add the washed and cleaned prawns/ shrimps, add salt, ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, coriander powder and mix well.
MAKING
4. Add oil in a pan, heat oil and deep fry the prawns little by little or else they would stick together. Once the prawns are almost done remove from oil and keep aside.
5. In a vessel add water, add some oil to the boiling water, add shahi jeera, and garam masala (cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and bay leaves). Allow the water to boil add the soaked rice and salt to the boiling water and cook the rice till 85% to 90% cooked and drain the water off.
6. In a heavy bottomed vessel, add oil, add garam masala (mace, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon), cumin seeds, chopped green chillies, coriander leaves, mint leaves, yoghurt, biryani masala, fried onion and salt.
7. To this add the fried shrimp and mix.
8. Add the cooked rice and top with chopped coriander leaves, fried onions, saffron color and garam masala powder.
9. Close the vessel with an airtight lid and cook for another 5 mins. Do not over cook the biryani.
SERVING
10. Serve hot.
