Shrimp A La Creole Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 large clove garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 tablespoon flour
6 large ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon thyme
Cayenne pepper
2 bay leaves
2 lbs. fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
Directions
Lightly brown onion and garlic in heated butter in a large heavy skillet, stirring occasionally.
Blend flour into mixture.
Stir in tomatoes, celery, salt, thyme, cayenne pepper to taste, and bay leaves.
Simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add shrimp, cover skillet and cook over low heat 10 minutes.
