Shrewsbury Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients
| Flour | 250 Gram | |
| Butter | 125 Gram | |
| 125 g castor sugar | ||
| Egg | 1 Large | |
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| 1/2 tsp powdered cinnamon or cumin and coriander powder mixture (optional) | ||
Directions
Set oven to 180°C (350°F).
Sift flour into bowl.
Add butter and work with finger-tips until mixture resembles bread crumbs.
Sprinkle with salt and mix again.
Add sugar, rosewater and spices if used, mix well and add egg.
Knead into a dough.
Roll out and cut into rounds with a biscuit cutter.
Prick with fork.
Place on a greased baking tray and bake for about 20-25 minutes.
