Shredded Turnips Recipe

 1 tablespoon unsalted margarine
 Yellow onion1 Small, finely chopped
 4 medium size turnips peeled and coarsely shredded
 1/2 cup low sodium beef or chicken broth
 Sugar1 Tablespoon
 Black pepper1/8 Teaspoon

Directions

In a heavy 10 inch skillet, melt the margarine over low heat.
Add the onion and cook, uncovered, until tender and beginning to brown about 10 minutes.
Stir in the turnips, beef broth, sugar, and pepper; cover and cook over moderate heat for 30 minutes or until the turnips are tender.
