Shortcut Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients
| Shortening | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 3 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Milk | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Margarine or butter, melted | ||
Directions
Heat oven to 450°.
Cut shortening into flour, baking powder and salt with pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Stir in just enough milk so dough leaves side of bowl and rounds up into a ball.
Turn dough onto ungreased cookie sheet.
With floured hands, pat dough into 6-inch square.
Cut into 2-inch squares, cutting completely through dough.
Brush with melted margarine.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
Immediately remove from cookie sheet; cool 5 minutes.
Gently pull biscuits apart.
