Shortbread Recipe
Shortbread tastes simple. Shortbread is very easy to prepare. Shortbread can be tried by butter lovers
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 egg
3 egg yolks
1 tbsp almond extract
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch nuts or candied fruit, chopped
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
In a large mixer bowl, whip butter and sugar.
Fold in whole egg, egg yolks and almond extract, beating well.
In a second bowl, sift flour and cornstarch.
Gradually fold into first mixture, stirring constantly to a smooth dough.
Using a pastry bag with a fluted nozzle, pipe dough onto an unbuttered cookie sheet, 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart.
Decorate with nuts or candied fruit.
Bake in oven 10-12 minutes or until cookies turn golden brown.
