 1/4 Cup Dark Molasses
 Boiling water3/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Baking soda1/2 Teaspoon
 Vanilla1 Teaspoon
 Flour1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) (Top Layer:)
 Crisco1/4 Cup (16 tbs) (Top Layer:)
 Brown sugar1/2 Cup (16 tbs) (Top Layer:)
 1 Unbaked 9" Pie Crust

Directions

Dissolve baking soda in boiling water, add molasses and vanilla.
Combine brown sugar, flour and crisco to make crumbs.
Pour 1/3 of liquid into unbaked pie crust, add 1/3 of crumbs.
Repeat until all of the mixture is used; bake at 375 degrees for 35 min.
Serve warm with whipped cream.
