Shoo-Fly Pie Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup molasses
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups sifted flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 9-inch unbaked pie shell
Directions
Combine molasses, water and baking soda; bring to a boil.
Boil 1 minute or until light in color.
Sift; together flour and sugar.
Cut in butter with 2 knives or a pastry blender, to a crumb con- sistency.
Pour molasses mixture into pastry shell; top with crumb mixture.
Bake in a hot oven (425° F) 40 minutes.
Cool.
Makes one 9-inch pie.
