Recipe Story

Sold by street vendors all across North India, nimbu pani is lemonade, which it is popularly known across the globe. What people might not think is that being the spice king that Indians are they would spice up the plain and simple lemonade. Plain lemonade is good, refreshing and cooling but this is great!

Ingredients

 
Big lemons – 2, juiced
 
Water – 1 liter
 
Sugar – 4 tablespoons
 
Kala namak or black salt – to taste.
 
Salt – to taste

Directions

MAKING
1. In a large glass pitcher, take a liter of water.
2. Add 4 tablespoons of sugar and stir it till the sugar dissolves completely in water.
3. Add juice of lemons to the water.
4. Pour it in individual glasses.
5. Add salt and black salt as per taste.

SERVING
6. Serve Indian nimbu pani chilled with ice cubes or refrigerate and use it as required.

Instead of water mix tonic water. First dissolve the sugar and lime juice and then slowly pour tonic water from the side. Viola you have fresh lime soda. Great alternative to an alcoholic drink.
