Shepherds Pie Recipe
Shepherds Pie is simply one of my favorite meat pies. This tasty dish is a popular dish at home as I serve it often for lunch during weekends. Try this delicious and unique Sheperds Pie recipe.
Ingredients
1 large onion, chopped
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 tablespoon parsley flakes
1 1/2 cups beef gravy
2 cups cut-up cooked lamb or beef (about 3/4-inch pieces)
1 package (10 oz.) frozen peas and carrots, defrosted
1 1/2 to 2 cups hot mashed potatoes
Paprika
Directions
Combine onion and butter in 2-quart casserole.
Cook at HIGH 2 to 2 1/2 minutes, or until onion is tender.
Stir in parsley; gradually add gravy.
Cook at HIGH 3 to 4 minutes, or until gravy is hot; stir twice.
Stir in lamb and peas and carrots.
Cook at MEDIUM-HIGH 10 to 11 minutes, or until heated through; stir twice.
Spoon potatoes on top of casserole; sprinkle with paprika.
Cook at MEDIUM-HIGH 2 to 3 minutes.
Cook at HIGH 2 to 2 1/2 minutes, or until onion is tender.
