Shanghai Turkey Stir Fry Recipe

Shanghai turkey stir fry is a sherried turkey stir fry made with vegetables. Prepared with strips of turkey, it is flavored soy sauce and garlic along with fresh ginger root. Flavorful with a zing to it, the oriental shanghai turkey stir fry is excellnt as a side with rice or noodles and is served with a saucy texture to it.

Ingredients

 
1 small turkey thigh, skinned and boned
 
3 tablespoons cornstarch, divided
 
4 tablespoons Soy Sauce, divided
 
1 tablespoon dry sherry
 
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
 
1 clove garlic, minced
 
1 cup water
 
3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
 
1 large carrot, cut into julienne strips
 
1 onion, sliced
 
1 package (10 oz.) frozen French-style green beans, thawed and drained

Directions

Cut turkey into thin, narrow strips; set aside.
Combine 2 tablespoons each cornstarch and soy sauce with sherry, ginger and garlic in medium bowl; stir in turkey.
Let stand 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine water, remaining 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 2 tablespoons soy sauce; set aside.
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in hot wok or large skillet over high heat.
Add turkey and stir-fry 3 minutes, or until tender; remove.
Heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil in same pan.
Add carrot and onion; stir-fry 2 minutes.
Add green beans; stir-fry 1 minute longer.
Stir in turkey and soy sauce mixture.
Cook and stir until mixture boils and thickens.
