Spicy Sabudana Vada Recipe Video

Ingredients

 
Potatoes – 3, boiled and mashed
 
Tapioca (Sabudana) – 250 grams, washed and soaked
 
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
 
Salt – as per taste
 
Chili powder – ½ teaspoon
 
Lemon – ¼, juiced
 
Coriander leaves – 1 sprig
 
All purpose flour (maida) – 1 teaspoon

Directions

MAKING
1. In a bowl, mash potatoes.
2. Add sabudana, cumin seeds, salt and red chilli powder.
3. Squeeze juice from 1/4th lemon and coriander leaves. Mix well.
4. Add some all purpose flour and mix well.
5. Make balls from this mix and flatten them.
6. In a pan, heat oil.
7. Once oil is hot, add the flattened ball and fry it on both the sides till it browns evenly on both the sides.

SERVING
8. Serve Spicy Sabudana Vada on a plate with mint or coriander chutney.

the recipe sounds yum... as shantihh said the 'vada' can be sprayed with oil and baked.. however, the crispiness of the deep fryin will be missing there.. isnt it?

hi sakhti, it looks like an easy recipe but could you please put up measurements also because in video too you are about to say how much sago you are going to add then instead of saying the amount you went on to explain how to wet it. Would really appreciate it. Otherwise the vadas look yummy :D.

This looks wonderful! I wonder if they could be spayed with oil and baked? I have given up with deep frying as it's just not healthy. Cutting out oils and cutting back on portions as well as eliminating whites flour-rice I have lost 32#. I gained weight after a back injury and was eating more than usual. easy to do when you love to cook.
