1 cup fresh lime juice
3 tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and chopped
3 scallions, including green parts, finely chopped
1/2 green pepper, seeded and chopped
2 canned jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

1 pound bay or sea scallops (cut sea scallops into quarters)

Directions
Combine all the ingredients except the scallops and lettuce in a large bowl.
Mix well.
Add the scallops, cover, and refrigerate for several hours.
