Seven Minute Icing Recipe
Ingredients
2 egg whites
1 tablespoonful light corn syrup
1 1/2 cupful sugar
5 tablespoonful water
1/2 teaspoonful vanilla
Directions
Combine unbeaten egg whites, sugar, corn syrup and water in top of double boiler.
Beat constantly with egg-beater over boiling water until icing is fluffy and holds its shape, about 7 min.
Remove icing from hot water and add vanilla.
Mix well, and spread on cake at once.
This icing is desirable when the cake is to be served immediately, but it does not keep well.
Makes enough to fill and frost 1 cake.
