Sesame Toasts Recipe
Ingredients
| 8 ounce loaf Italian or French bread, about 2 inches in diameter | ||
| 2 teaspoons Oriental sesame oil | ||
| 2 eggs, beaten lightly | ||
| Sesame seeds | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Unsalted butter | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Cut loaf crosswise at slight angle into Vi inch thick slices.
Melt butter with sesame oil.
Brush both sides of each slice with some of butter mixture; brush one side of each slice with egg and dip that side into sesame seeds.
Arrange slices, sesame side up, on baking sheets and bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, until toasts are golden and crisp.
Toasts can be stored in airtight container for a week at room temperature.
NOTE TO COOK: Carry to party in storage container.
Arrange on serving tray.
