Sesame Seed Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 lb (250 g) butter or margarine
3/4 cup sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla essence
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
4' 1/ 2 cups self-raising flour
1 beaten egg yolk or 2 tablespoons milk for glazing
1/4 cup sesame seeds
Directions
Cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla until smooth.
Beat in the egg thoroughly, then add the milk.
Stir in the flour and knead for a few seconds.
Taking walnut size pieces of dough, roll into long nar- row strips, 4 in (10 cm) long and 1/2 in (1.25 cm) wide.
Twist each strip into a circle, coil or any other shape.
Brush lightly with the beaten egg yolk or milk and sprin- kle with sesame seeds.
Place the biscuits on a well greased baking tray and bake in a moderate oven, 350°F (180°C), until golden — approx 20—25 minutes.
