Sesame Cheese Muffins Recipe
sesame cheese muffins are baked with crunchy, toasted sesame seeds along with butter. The cheddar cheese and chopped onions bring threal flavor into this muffin recipe. The biscuit mix adds the extra crunchy texture.
Ingredients
| 11/2 cups homemade or packaged biscuit mix 375 mL | ||
| 1 cup shredded sharpprocessed cheese 250 mL | ||
| Vegetable oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Onions | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Milk | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sesame seeds | 1 Tablespoon, toasted | |
| 2 tbsp butter or margarine,melted 25 mL | ||
Directions
In a large bowl, combine biscuit mix and half of the cheese.
In a small skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
Cook onions just until tender.
In a bowl combine egg, milk and onions.
Add all at once to biscuit mixture and stir just until moistened.
Spoon batter into prepared muffin tin, filling cups three-quarters full.
Sprinkle with remaining cheese and sesame seeds.
Drizzle melted butter over top.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
