Sesame Straws Recipe

Ingredients
1/4 lb frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 egg
3-4 tbsp sesame seeds
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured pastry board with a floured rolling pin to a thickness of about 1/8 in.
Beat the egg lightly in a small bowl with a pinch of salt and some freshly ground pepper and coat the entire surface of the pastry thinly with it, using a pastry brush.
Sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
Cut the pastry into long strips about 3/4 in wide, then cut these into 2 in lengths.
Arrange them carefully on a greased cookie sheet, egg glaze and sesame seeds uppermost.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until they have puffed up and are lightly browned.
