Sesame Steak Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 cup salad oil
1/3 cup sesame seeds
4 medium-sized onions, thickly sliced
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon cracked pepper
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 boneless beef top sirloin steak, 1 1/2 inches thick
Directions
1. Prepare marinade: In 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, in hot salad oil, cook sesame seeds until golden, stirring frequently. In 13" by 9" baking dish, mix sesame-seed mixture, onions, soy sauce, lemon juice, sugar, pepper, and garlic.
2. Trim excess fat from steak; place steak in marinade, turning to coat both sides. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours, turning steak occasionally.
3. About 45 minutes before serving, preheat broiler if manufacturer directs. Place steak and onions on rack in broiling pan; broil about 25 minutes for rare, brushing often with marinade. Turn steak once; stir onions to prevent burning.
