Marinate it for 1 to 2 hours in a mixture of the soy sauce, sugar, salt, and ginger.
If you plan to barbecue the chicken at the picnic, put it into the marinade just before you leave home.
Also toast the sesame seed either in a frying pan or in the oven until lightly browned.
Remove chicken from marinade and grill over medium hot coals or in your broiler.
Brush with some of the marinade and with melted butter or salad oil.
Cook until nicely browned on both sides and the chicken is tender, about 30 to 40 minutes.
Sprinkle with the toasted sesame seed when you remove it from the grill
