Sesame Rice Recipe
Ingredients
| Chinese sesame oil-2 teaspoons | ||
| Celery, carrot, and green bell pepper-1/4 cup each finely diced | ||
| Scallion (green onion)-2 tablespoons-thinly sliced | ||
| Fresh garlic-1 teaspoon-minced | ||
| Parsley sprigs | ||
| Brown rice-2 ounces-uncooked | ||
| Instant onion broth and seasoning mix-1 packet -dissolved in 1 1/2 cups hot water | ||
| Sesame seed | 2 Teaspoon, toasted (Garnish) | |
Directions
MAKING
1. In a large 1-quart saucepan, pour out the oil
2. Heat the oil over medium heat
3. Add the celery, carrot, green pepper, scallion and garlic to the hot oil. Sauté the vegetables till they are crisp and tender
4. Add rice to the pan and then tip in the dissolved broth mix
5. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce heat
6. Cover the mixture and simmer on low. Stir the mixture occasionally during the cooking process until all the moisture is absorbed
7. Remove pan from heat
FINALIZING
8. Add the sesame seed to the pan
9. Transfer to the serving plante
SERVING
10. Garnish with parsley sprigs and serve immediately
